Northton Machair
Walk across the machair ( sandy shore-plain ) through a spectacular flower cover in mid summer towards a ruined chapel in the shadow of Chaipaval. In the nesting season a wide variety of ground nesting and wading birds can be seen and heard, with the possibility of sighting seaqls and porpoises offshore. |

Horgabost/Seilibost
A circular over machair land to Macleod's Stone with excellent views of Taransay and the North Harris hills. A short drive to Seilibost then allow for a beach and estuary walk with opportunities to watch terns from the dunes. |

Borrisdale- Rodel
Following the old track from Borrisdale to Rodel there are lovely views of the Sound of Harris and Skye. Rodel itself has a sheltered bay with the historic buildings of St. Clements church and Rodel Hotel nearby. A peacful walk around the loch to the north of the village will allow you to experience this area at its best. |

Renish point
This area at the southermost point of Harris allows fine views across the Sound of Harris to North uist and across the Minch to Skye. Large numbers of seabirds nest on the cliffs abd feed in the inshore waters where sea mammals are often seen. Otters can be seen in the evenings. |
